Consider broadening your sphere of influence as an NFIB Advocate.

NFIB Needs Indiana Small Business Leaders—How About You?

The NFIB values your membership and your commitment to supporting Hoosier small business communities. As 2023 is quickly ending, I encourage you to consider joining our efforts to advocate for a pro-small business policies in 2024. Examples of the things advocate members do are: · testify at legislative hearings involving small-business issues · host lawmakers for a tour of your business operations · be a quotable contact for the media · assist in implementing the political strategy for elections, including: — endorsements — fundraising — and other grassroots efforts · help shape questions for the state ballot, the results from which are considered by lawmakers, state constitutional officers, and the bureaucracy to be the true voice of small business. Nothing commands the attention of politicians better than hearing directly from a small-business owner. Serving as an NFIB Indiana Advocate opens the doors of legislative offices—in fact, it can also open the doors to elective office. It can also create opportunities to serve on boards and committees for elected officials as leadership council member Loren King, owner of Trinitas Ventures, can attest. Loren was appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Cabinet to serve as the voice of small business and help make recommendations to address the historic high labor shortage in our state. You too can help influence lawmakers and make a difference for your small business and others. For more information about this and other opportunities to be more involved in setting the small-business agenda, please e-mail NFIB Grassroots Manager ML McGinty at ML.McGinty@nfib.org.
