NFIB Kansas to Governor Kelly: Our Job Creators Need Tax Relief

January 10, 2024 Last Edit: July 19, 2024

A recent NFIB survey of small business owners found that inflation is the single most important problem in operating their business.

TOPEKA (Jan. 10, 2024) – Ahead of Governor Laura Kelly’s State of the State address, NFIB State Director Dan Murray urged lawmakers to strengthen Kansas’ economic footing with tax cuts.

“A recent NFIB survey of small business owners found that inflation is the single most important problem in operating their business. Our job creators need tax relief. The state experienced a nearly $3 billion surplus, and now it’s incumbent on lawmakers to return those dollars to the taxpayers. Cutting taxes would provide meaningful relief for Main Street, making it easier for our small business owners to raise wages, create new jobs, and invest in their communities. Now is the time for lawmakers to unleash our economy and deliver meaningful tax reform.

“We will continue to work with the Governor, her cabinet members, and the legislature to adopt policies that help our small businesses and the hardworking Kansans they employ thrive.”
