The annual event helped NFIB members from across the state connect with elected officials at the State Capitol

NFIB members from across the state came to Columbus today to participate in NFIB’s annual Small Business Day at the Capitol.

NFIB State Director Chris Ferruso, Assistant State Director Cameron Garczyk, and Grassroots Manager Anthony Lagunzad joined NFIB members in meetings with Senate President Matt Huffman and over a dozen lawmakers to discuss issues important to Main Street.

“I’m very pleased with how this year’s event turned out,” Ferruso said. “It’s important for legislators to hear directly from our members — their constituents — about the issues that matter to them.”

Twenty-seven NFIB members attended today’s event at the State Capitol. They spoke to their legislators on issues ranging from property taxes and health insurance mandates to third-party litigation funding.

Small business owners also thanked lawmakers for supporting legislation eliminating commercial activity tax liability for many small businesses and preserving the business income deduction allowing pass-through businesses to deduct the first $250,000 of business income from state tax liability.

“On behalf of our members, I want to thank legislators and their staffs for taking time to sit down with us and talk about the issues affecting Ohio’s small businesses,” Ferruso said. “As this year’s legislative session progresses, we will continue to promote and protect the right of our members to own, operate, and grow their businesses.”
