Small business was victorious in all four of the statewide ballot measures it engaged in and won 83% of the assembly and senate endorsements it made.
NFIB California, its members, political action committee, and leadership council had a good 2024 Election Day.
Proposition 5, which sought to lower the voter threshold to pass bonds and which NFIB recommended a ‘No’ vote on, lost (45% Yes, 55% No).
Proposition 32, which would raise the state’s minimum wage rate and which NFIB recommended a ‘No’ vote on, lost (49.3% Yes, 50.7% Yes).
Proposition 33, which would have given local governments greater rent-control powers and which NFIB urged a ‘No’ vote on, lost (40% Yes, 60% No).
Proposition 36, which toughens retail theft laws and which NFIB urged a ‘Yes’ vote on, won (68% Yes, 32% No).
In the State Senate, all four candidates the NFIB CA PAC endorsed won:
- Senate District 1—Megan Dahle
- Senate District 19—Rosilicie Ochoa-Bogh
- Senate District 23—Suzette Valladares
- Senate District 37—Steven Choi
In the State Assembly, 16 of the 20 candidates the NFIB CA PAC endorsed won:
- Assembly District 3—James Gallagher
- Assembly District 5—Joe Patterson
- Assembly District 6—Maggy Krell
- Assembly District 7—Josh Hoover
- Assembly District 9—Heath Flora
- Assembly District 19—Catherine Stefani
- Assembly District 22—Juan Alanis
- Assembly District 34—Tom Lackey
- Assembly District 41—John Harabedian
- Assembly District 47—Greg Wallis
- Assembly District 59—Phillip Chen
- Assembly District 63—Bill Essayli
- Assembly District 70—Tri Ta
- Assembly District 71—Kate Sanchez

- Assembly District 74—Laurie Davies
