Leah Long tells Talk 107.3 that Louisiana needs centralized tax collection

State Director Leah Long joined “Mornings with Brian Haldane” on Talk 107.3 in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, Nov. 12, to discuss the state’s special legislative session on tax reform.

“It’s finally catching on that to pay for the personal income tax decrease is basically an expansion of taxes on services, so that’s definitely going to affect our members,” she said.

“It’s going to raise the cost of doing business…that’s something we’re paying attention to because we already have such a complicated tax system and sales tax collection system, and we don’t have centralized sales tax, so it is going to make it harder on business owners that have never had to remit and collect sales tax before.”
