Indiana's 2024 Small Business Growth Agenda

The 2024 legislative session is right around the corner. On January 8th, lawmakers will gather in Indianapolis to consider new legislation. NFIB here in Indiana has put together a small business growth agenda and is sharing small business issues and priorities with lawmakers so they understand the problems you are facing as a small business owner. Earlier this month, the Leadership Council got together for a presentation from Beth Milito, Executive Director of the Small Business Legal Center. Beth shared the Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting fact sheet, a rule that takes effect January 1, 2024! You can read all about it here: FinCen-One-pager-11-10-23-update-6580a6a666edd

You can find the latest updates from the Legal Center here: Legal Center Updates 12 06 2023 (2)

During the meeting, NFIB State Director Natalie Robinson led a productive discussion about taxes and the state ballot questions. We will be sure to readdress the sales tax on services issue via a special ballot if needed depending on the legislative proposals that will be heard this coming session. If you were unable to join us, the slides and information from the meeting are attached for your reference. IMPORTANT DATES –SBD: January 31st –Gubernatorial forum: Tentatively set for March 26th –DC Fly-In: June 10th-12th REMINDER If you haven’t filled out your state ballot, please make sure to do so as soon as possible. This is a great way for us to gauge the issues important to you as a small business owner.
