House Committee's Tax Bill Would Help Small Businesses

NFIB State Director Gil White released the following statement today in response to House Bill 3300, legislation to phase out the state income tax:

“The bill passed out of the House Finance Committee on Monday represents a commonsense approach to easing the tax burden on all West Virginians, including small business owners, without raising the sales tax or imposing a so-called ‘luxury tax’ on big-ticket items an employer might need to stay competitive and stay in business.

“We look forward to working with legislative leaders and Governor Justice on tax reform legislation that avoids picking financial winners and losers but works for everyone.”
