GA Senate Sends Red Tape Rollback Act to House

The measure would reduce burdensome regulations that make it harder for small businesses to grow and create jobs

NFIB State Director Hunter Loggins today applauded the Georgia Senate for passing Senate Bill 28, the Red Tape Rollback Act of 2025.

“SB 28, part of Lt. Gov. Burt Jones’ ongoing effort to make state government more efficient, is one of NFIB’s top priorities in this year’s General Assembly,” Loggins said.

“Small businesses are under enormous economic pressure and facing an uncertain future. SB 28 would provide clarity and stability by allowing bills introduced in the General Assembly to include a small business impact statement. It would also improve the process for adopting new administrative rules and require officials to regularly review and remove outdated or unnecessary regulations.

“The Red Tape Rollback Act of 2025 is a commonsense measure that will help ensure new laws do more good than harm for small businesses. On behalf of our members, I urge the Georgia House to pass SB 28 quickly so Governor Kemp can sign it into law.”
