Election 2024: Republicans Maintain Trifecta in Florida
Several Pro-Small Business Candidates Won Tuesday Night
As Florida’s small businesses continue to report high economic uncertainty and low optimism, small business voters elected many small business-friendly candidates to help ease the inflationary and regulatory pressures facing their businesses. Numerous NFIB FedPAC and NFIB Florida PAC endorsed candidates won their respective elections.
“We are pleased to see so many pro-small business candidates win their elections, and we are confident that they will prioritize Florida’s Main Street in Washington, D.C. and Tallahassee,” said Bill Herrle, NFIB Florida Executive State Director. “There are various challenges that Florida’s small businesses are managing, and it is crucial that these elected officials support policies that will strengthen our economy and continue to make Florida a great place to do business.”
Federal Races
Senator Rick Scott overwhelmingly won his re-election to remain one of Florida’s senators in the U.S. Senate.
Several pro-small business incumbents won their re-election to the U.S. House including Rep. Neal Dunn (FL-02), Rep. Aaron Bean (FL-04), Rep. Michael Waltz (FL-06), Rep. Cory Mills (FL-07), Rep. Greg Stuebe (FL-17), and Rep. Byron Donalds (FL-19).
Florida Legislature
Florida Republicans maintained their supermajorities in both legislative chambers.
NFIB Florida PAC endorsed over 80 candidates for the Florida Legislature, and many won election including Corey Simon for Senate District 3 and Rep. Alex Andrade won re-election for Florida House District 2.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
