The NFIB Small Business Legal Center Releases Credit Card Chargeback Guide
The new Credit Card Chargeback Guide from the NFIB Small Business Legal Center provides important information for small businesses to navigate – and avoid – disputes. Chargebacks occur when a customer disputes a charge with their credit card company or bank. An obstacle for small business owners to navigate, chargebacks can impact customer relationships and accounting processes, sometimes resulting in fees or loss of income.
“Unfortunately, single-handedly winning a chargeback dispute is extremely difficult,” said Beth Milito, Executive Director, Small Business Legal Center. “In fact, statistically speaking, merchants win only 32% of the time. The best way to win a chargeback is to prevent it in the first place.”
The guide includes background information, tips for challenging a dispute, and advice to avoid chargebacks from occurring.
The complete NFIB Small Business Legal Center Credit Card Chargeback Guide is now available, along with other helpful resources and guides from NFIB’s Legal Center.
