Cheers! Governor Hochul Signs Bills Reforming ABC Laws

On October 15th Governor Hochul signed a package of legislation updating some of New York’s “Blue Laws.” On Sundays, retail wine and liquor stores may now open at 10 a.m. and close at 10 p.m., and beer sales can begin at 8 a.m. Other changes include extending brewer’s licenses from one year to three years, and allowing retail stores to sell certain complementary items that include wine and liquor. This package of legislation will support alcohol retailers, and help small-business owners expand options for consumers.
