Calling All Massachusetts Small Business Owners: You Are Invited to Small Business Day on Beacon Hill

April 2, 2024 Last Edit: June 5, 2025

NFIB, along with our partners at the Retailers Association of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Restaurant Association, will host Small Business Day on Beacon Hill at the State House on May 15th.

Ask yourself:

  • Are you struggling to keep your business fully staffed? Massachusetts lawmakers have pending legislation to expand leave time.
  • Have your labor costs increased dramatically? Legislators have several bills filed that will raise the minimum wage to a whopping $20 per hour while eliminating the tipped wage.
  • Did you notice that your energy bills are rising? Policies on Beacon Hill will lead to further increases in your utility bills as the state moves to full electrification by banning certain sources of energy.

Massachusetts is becoming an increasingly expensive state to run a small business, and policies coming from the Legislature are only making it more difficult. Labor unions, worker activist groups, and those looking to increase taxes are at the State House every day attending hearings, holding rallies, and pushing for policies that will harm your business. Now is the time to remind legislators that as business owners, you don’t only provide vital jobs for residents of the Commonwealth, but also serve as the economic engine that keeps Massachusetts running.

Join us for this FREE event and help bring the small business message to Beacon Hill. Small business owner guests are encouraged!

When: May 15, 2024

Time: 10:00 AM Program start followed by visits with your state legislators
