California Small Business Owners to Gather Virtually, Tomorrow

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: John Kabateck, California State Director, John.Kabateck@nfib.org or Tony Malandra, Senior Media Manager, Anthony.Malandra@nfib.org SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 18, 2023—As it does every year, NFIB California will hold a Small Business Day event for its membership to get apprised on the issues affecting their abilities to own, operate, and grow their enterprises. State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher, and Senator Roger Niello will be on hand to make some remarks at this member-exclusive event. Public comment from NFIB California State Director John Kabateck is available before and after. Issues to be raised include:
  • Leave mandates
  • Minimum wage Increases
  • Unemployment insurance and small business taxes
  • California Air Resources Board’s new, sweeping energy rules
  • Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) and shakedown lawsuits
  • California’s current fiscal situation and small business resources.
