America’s Small Businesses Renew Call to Make Preservation of Small Business Tax Deduction a Priority
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Mar. 5, 2025) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, issued the following statement following President Trump’s speech before a Joint Session of Congress.
“The 20% Small Business Tax Deduction that was included in the TCJA was a historic achievement. It empowered tens of millions of small business owners to grow their business, hire new workers, raise wages for their employees, and give back to their communities,” said Brad Close, NFIB President. “Without Congressional action, nine out of 10 small businesses will be hit with a massive tax hike later this year. America’s 30 million small businesses are counting on Congress and the administration to make the 20% Small Business Tax Deduction permanent and protect them from this massive tax hike.”
