Small business updates & what to expect next session
The Ohio General Assembly continues to meet through the end of this week to finalize the 2024 session. This year, Ohio small businesses saw wins in a reduction of workers’ compensation rates and progress on issues like retail theft and lawsuit abuse.
The General Assembly will begin the 2025 session on Monday, January 6, 2025. NFIB Ohio State Director Chris Ferruso will be in Columbus tracking legislation that pertains to the small business community.
Ohio voters elected many pro-small business candidates in the 2024 election, giving NFIB Ohio-PAC endorsed candidates a 93% winning rate. NFIB will monitor the incoming special election to fill Senator Vance’s seat – stay tuned!
