2024 Small Business Victories in New Hampshire

Date: March 18, 2024

Legislative wins in Concord

Licensing

NFIB supported legislation to allow for more reciprocity from licensees in another state looking to move to New Hampshire to live and work passed last session. This helped aid the workforce shortage in New Hampshire.

Product Bans

NFIB fought proposals banning the use of single-use disposable plastic food ware accessories and prohibited offering disposable plastic food ware to customers except upon request.

Safe Harbor

NFIB worked to increase the safe harbor compensation amount under the business profits tax from $75,000 to $100,000. It also introduces a mechanism for biennial adjustments to this threshold, starting for tax years beginning Jan. 1, 2025.
