Ways & Means Committee mark-up important health insurance legislation
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 28, 2023) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, issued the following statement regarding the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee legislation on expanding Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).
“Rising health insurance costs is one of the top concerns small business owners have in running their businesses,” said Josselin Castillo, NFIB Manager of Federal Government Relations. “Expanding Health Savings Accounts and improving access to primary care arrangements, such as direct primary care, directly empowers both employers and employees with more control over their healthcare decisions. Small businesses applaud the committee for taking the initiative to improve our costly healthcare system, increase choice, and make it more affordable for small employers to offer this important benefit.”
