SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 17, 2024-From Casey Hill, Utah state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business association, in advance of Gov. Spencer Cox’s State-of-the-State address tomorrow.

“Utah stands out uniquely as a leader among states for small businesses because of the low tax, low regulation policies that the Legislature and governor have supported. These policies have kept Utah consistently high in state ranking indexes* and most importantly, these policies give small business owners the ability to plan more accurately when to hire new employees and to expand their enterprises.

“What we hope to hear from the governor in his state of the state address is a continued commitment from our state to be a leader in the nation in small business friendly policies. The less time our small business owners spend dealing with unnecessary and overburdensome regulations, the more time they have to run their businesses!”
