NFIB Nevada Legislative Priorities

Date: January 30, 2023

Members called up to make their voices heard with state lawmakers

Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo has delivered his State of the State priorities and now is the time to speak up as Nevada legislators prepare to gavel into session on February 6.

More than 900 Bill Draft Requests (BDRs) have been submitted so far and nearly 150 have already been pre-filed, with many more in the works on a wide range of issues affecting small businesses. NFIB will be advocating on the top issues and your message will help have an impact on those discussions.

Please take a moment to send a message to lawmakers asking them to support small businesses when considering these top priority issues:

  • Support Gov. Lombardo’s proposals to reduce payroll tax rates and increase the commerce tax exemption amount
  • Oppose efforts to subject business owners to more lawsuits
  • Ensure Nevada businesses have access to reliable, affordable energy
  • Nevada small businesses already pay too much for health care – lawmakers should work to bring these costs down and avoid making it even worse
  • Oppose efforts to impose additional costs/burdens on small businesses through required paid vacation/sick days or wage mandates.

Customize your message by sharing the challenges that your business is facing. Act Now. Act Here.
