SALEM, Ore., Aug. 10, 2022—The political action committee for Oregon’s leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Christine Drazan for governor.

“Christine Drazan’s proven record of small-business support, her professional experience, and her gutsy leadership while serving in the legislature makes her the best choice for Oregon’s next governor,” said Anthony Smith, Oregon state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), speaking for the NFIB OR PAC, which made the endorsement.

“Drazan’s strong NFIB voting record during her two terms in the Oregon House demonstrates that she doesn’t merely claim to support small businesses – she votes with small business when it matters most,” said Smith. “She is committed to lowering taxes on Oregon businesses and families, unleashing Oregon’s natural resources and manufacturing industries, and reining in agencies and the state’s notoriously anti-business regulatory environment.”

From 2019 through 2021, all three of the major candidates for governor served in the Legislature at the same time, earning NFIB voting record scores of 89% for Drazan, 64% for Johnson, and 18% for Kotek.

“Drazan comes to the fore as the clear choice for Main Street, mom-and-pop enterprises at a time when small-business owners have, as never before, been hit with so many challenges all at once,” continued Smith, citing inflation, soaring fuel prices, supply-chain disruptions, labor shortages, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
