BOISE, Idaho, May 31, 2022—Today’s release of NFIB’s biennial report card on state legislators showed Idaho as one of the most pro-small-business states in the nation.

“We publish our voting record every two years to show the true friends of small business by their actions, not their words,” said Suzanne Budge, Idaho state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small-business association. “This year’s report is especially important because we lost a few friends of small business in the Primary Election, so those who prevailed can now learn about some of the issues of concern to Main Street enterprises.”

Lawmakers were graded on their votes on eight bills taken in the 2021-2022 session. Sixteen senators and 38 representatives scored perfect, 100% pro-small-business voting records. Another 10 senators and 14 representatives were in the 80-percentile.

A brief description of the eight bills and the votes taken by every legislator on them can be read here.

“I believe when 74% of our legislators have voting records 80% or above, we can rightly claim to be one of the most pro-small-business states in the nation,” added Budge. “Let’s hope we can keep it that way post-November 8.”
