SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 26, 2022—The political action committee for California’s largest and leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Vince Fong for State Assembly.

“Vince Fong has a stellar record of support for small business during his entire time in the State Assembly. We’d like to lengthen that time and endorse him for reelection once again,” said John Kabateck, California state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), speaking for the NFIB CA PAC, which made the endorsement. “In a State Legislature that is downright mean to Main Street, mom-and-pop small businesses, when it’s not being aggressively hostile, Vince Fong has always carried the torch for small business, working the extra hours to kill bad legislation, lessen the severity of harmful proposals, and even getting some rare pro-small-business measures passed. California small businesses have no truer friend and effective champion than Vince Fong in the State Legislature.”

The 32nd State Assembly District includes parts of Bakersfield and the Kern County communities of Ridgecrest, Tehachapi, Maricopa, Taft, Kernville, Lake Isabella, the Kern River Valley, and Oildale, and in Tulare County, parts of Visalia, and the communities of Exeter, Kaweah, Lemon Cove, Three Rivers.

NFIB’s national membership spans the spectrum of business operations, ranging from sole proprietor enterprises to firms with hundreds of employees. While there is no standard definition of a small business, the typical NFIB member employs 10 people and reports gross sales of about $500,000 a year. The NFIB membership is a reflection of American small business. Small-business owners are also a potent political force.
