SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 17, 2022—The political action committee for California’s largest and leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Lily Mei for State Senate.

“Lily Mei’s very successful tenure as mayor of Fremont eminently qualifies her for the State Senate,” said John Kabateck, California state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), speaking for the NFIB CA PAC, which made the endorsement. “She could not have achieved what she did without a fundamental appreciation of the central thread running through every community—small businesses. Lily Mei is small businesses’ choice for State Senate.”

The new 10th State Senate District includes part of Alameda and Santa Clara counties, including the entire communities of Fremont, Hayward, Newark, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, and Union City.

NFIB’s national membership spans the spectrum of business operations, ranging from sole proprietor enterprises to firms with hundreds of employees. While there is no standard definition of a small business, the typical NFIB member employs 10 people and reports gross sales of about $500,000 a year. The NFIB membership reflects American small business. Small-business owners are also a potent political force. Click here for a page of bulleted information on the Power of the Small Business Voice.
