SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 17, 2022—The political action committee for California’s largest and leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Heath Flora for State Assembly.

“Heath Flora commands the respect of his Assembly colleagues for the very California qualifications he brings to the job: farmer, firefighter, and small-business owner,” said John Kabateck, California state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), speaking for the NFIB CA PAC, which made the endorsement. “In one of the most anti-business legislatures in California history, his diligent work on behalf of Main Street enterprises made a bad session less severe. He personifies what a true small-business champion is, which is why he is small businesses’ choice for State Assembly.”

The new 9th Assembly District includes parts of five counties, including the entire communities of Escalon, Galt, Hughson, Ione, Isleton, Lathrop, Lodi, Manteca, Oakdale, Ripon, Riverbank, and Waterford.

NFIB’s national membership spans the spectrum of business operations, ranging from sole proprietor enterprises to firms with hundreds of employees. While there is no standard definition of a small business, the typical NFIB member employs 10 people and reports gross sales of about $500,000 a year. The NFIB membership is a reflection of American small business. Small-business owners are also a potent political force.
