SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 11, 2022—The political action committee for California’s largest and leading small-business association today announced its endorsement of Angelique Ashby for State Senate.

“Angelique Ashby is the clear choice for small businesses in Sacramento County,” said John Kabateck, California state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), speaking for the NFIB CA PAC, which made the endorsement. “Angelique Ashby’s small-business experience and call for greater entrepreneurship opportunities are what is needed in the State Senate. There is nothing in her opponent’s past that would lead us to believe that the health and well-being of the people who gave most of us our first job is at all a concern to him.”

Ashby is running in the new 8th State Senate District, which includes Sacramento, Elk Grove, Elverta, Rio Linda, Vineyard, Florin, and Lemon Hill.

NFIB’s national membership spans the spectrum of business operations, ranging from sole proprietor enterprises to firms with hundreds of employees. While there is no standard definition of a small business, the typical NFIB member employs 10 people and reports gross sales of about $500,000 a year. The NFIB membership reflects American small business. Small-business owners are also a potent political force. Click here for a page of bulleted information on the Power of the Small Business Voice.
