Free Legal Assistance Available to Wisconsin Small Business

The Business Law Section of the State Bar and the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic operate a unique program that offers free legal advice consultations to Wisconsin’s small business community.

The project offers up to one-hour of non-litigation services with a licensed attorney via ZOOM or telephone.  An additional hour is available, at no charge, if the issue cannot be resolved during the first hour of consultation.

The assistance is available on a wide variety of topics including:

  • Finance and lending
  • Insurance claims/leverage
  • Commercial leases and contracts
  • Taxes
  • Labor and employment
  • Real estate
  • Commercial debtor/creditor
  • Regulatory compliance

The Legal Assistance Project does not include:

  • Litigation
  • Patent or trademark issues
  • Commercial real estate transactions
