WATCH: Vote 'Yes' on Amendment 1 to Safeguard TN's Right-to-Work Law

Date: September 23, 2022

NFIB is taking an active role in “Yes on 1,” a campaign calling for passage of Amendment 1. The proposed state constitutional amendment would strengthen Tennessee’s position as a right-to-work state.

Rep. Patsy Hazlewood of Tennessee House District 27 spoke with us recently about why small business owners and their employees should support the amendment.

NFIB members Mark Faulkner, CEO of Vireo Systems in Madison, and Deeannah Seymour, CEO of ph-D Feminine Health, also spoke out in support of Amendment 1.

NFIB State Director Jim Brown said, “Our right-to-work law has been in place since 1947, but it’s under attack in Congress with the U.S. House’s passage of the PRO Act.

“Right-to-work simply states that workers have a choice if they want to join a union or not,” Brown said. “NFIB members across Tennessee believe workers should have that choice, and Tennessee voters will be able to vote on adding this important constitutional protection on Nov. 8.”
