On May 17th, New Jersey State Director Eileen Kean spoke to The Center Square (“New Jersey’s $50 million funding ‘not focusing a lot on helping small businesses’“) about the addition of $50 million to the state’s Main Street Recovery Fund: “It hasn’t necessarily been available to all small businesses throughout the state. And businesses have suffered in urban areas, rural areas, and suburbs.”
On May 4th, Kean spoke with New Jersey 101.5 (“Many NJ stores still handing out paper bags, but it’s OK!“) about New Jersey’s toughest-in-the-nation bag ban:
“The new law stipulates all regular types of plastic bags are banned, but Eileen Kean, the director of the New Jersey chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business, said some smaller stores are confused about what is permitted.
‘There is a learning curve involved and business owners, members of NFIB are trying to embrace the new world they live in.'”
