NFIB Illinois’ 2022 Small Business Day, hosted virtually on February 22nd, was “standing room only” as small business owners from around the state discussed the issues most important to their businesses with a top state lawmaker and the association’s state and federal lobbyists.
State Director Chris Davis, hosting his first Small Business Day since taking the helm for NFIB in Illinois, directed an informative discussion with NFIB members, state Sen. Jason Barickman (R-53rd District), the Senate Minority Caucus Chair, and federal policy expert and Illinois native, NFIB Vice President of Federal Government Relations Kevin Kuhlman to ensure that the Voice of Small Business is well-informed and heard in Springfield.
The event, which was free for members and guests, included an overview of NFIB’s legislative priorities in the state legislature and Washington, D.C., as well as instruction on how small-business owners can influence policy in Illinois to help your business succeed.
The policy discussions included updates and Q&A on:
- Governor Pritzker’s Budget Address Proposal
- Paid Sick Leave
- Unemployment Insurance Taxes
- The latest twists for President Biden’s “Build Back Better” Spending Package
- The “Pro Act” and federal labor bills
