Early In-Person Voting Begins May 19

It’s officially election season in Illinois.  The Primary election has been postponed from the typical early-March to June 28 this year.  You’re likely being inundated with television and radio commercials, and mail.  And we still have six months to go until November. In-person early voting for the June 28th Primary Election has already begun in certain locations and will continue to be available up until Election Day next month. You can use this website to find your local polling location and hours. The voter registration deadline for this election is Sunday, June 12th. However, voters are still able to register on the day of the election and vote if they are able to provide two forms of identification with at least one proving a valid Illinois address. Otherwise, they can cast a provisional ballot at the polls. Illinois is a no-excuse vote-by-mail state. This means that any registered voter may vote by mail for any reason. Requests for these ballots must be submitted by Thursday, June 23 if they are to be received in time for the Primary Election. If possible, it is recommended that these requests are submitted earlier to ensure a timely delivery. You can apply for a vote-by-mail ballot using this website. Completed vote-by-mail ballots sent through the U.S. Postal Service must be postmarked on or before Election Day and must arrive at the office of the local election authority within two weeks to be counted. Voters can also deposit ballots into a secure drop box, where available, until the close of polls at 7 p.m. on Election Day. NFIB encourages you to be the voice of small business in this election. To see a full list of candidates running for office, feel free to visit the State Board of Elections’ website. As always, if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team by emailing Political@NFIB.org.
