NFIB Statement on House Bill Offering State Income Tax Credit (HB1302)

NFIB State Director Nathan Humphrey released the following statement today following House passage of HB1302, Rep. Josh Bonner’s measure that would provide a state income tax credit: “If the bill passes the Senate and is signed into law, Georgia taxpayers would receive tax refunds $250 to $500, depending on their filing status. That’s money they can use to buy groceries, school supplies, and other essentials. Small business owners can use their rebates to buy supplies and equipment. That’s why we’re urging the Senate to help stimulate Georgia’s economy by passing House Bill 1302.” Humphrey said most small businesses in the state are organized as pass-through entities, meaning their owners pay taxes at the individual rate.
