Fuel Tax Holiday Would Help Florida's Small Businesses

State Executive Director Bill Herrle released the following statement this evening in response to Gov. Ron DeSantis‘s and legislative leaders’ plan for a fuel tax holiday in October: “These are challenging times for Florida’s small businesses. The latest NFIB Small Business Optimism Index survey shows 26 percent of owners nationwide rank inflation as the single most important problem facing their small businesses. That’s the highest reading since the third quarter of 1981. “Diesel and gasoline expenses add to the cost of just about everything, from supplies and raw materials to driving to the store and making deliveries. The proposed fuel tax holiday will reduce the cost of living and doing business in the Sunshine State and ease the financial pressure on Florida businesses and families.”
