WATCH: Why FL Small Businesses Need COVID-19 Liability Protections

Date: March 12, 2021

Bill Herrle, NFIB’s state executive director, and Dominic Calabro, president and CEO of Florida TaxWatch, presented a free webinar earlier this month on the need for COVID-19 liability protections for small businesses.

They discussed support for House Bill 7 and Senate Bill 72 and what’s at stake for Florida employers and employees if the legislation fails.

“Employers are under enormous financial pressure right now because of the coronavirus, and the threat of overreaching legal action makes things even worse,” Herrle said. “Bad actors should be held liable, but employers who follow the rules and do everything the state requires them to do to keep their customers and employees safe should be protected from overzealous trial lawyers trying to profit from the pandemic.”
