Kansas Small Business Owners Applaud Senator Marshall’s Reintroduction of the Credit Card Competition Act

Date: June 07, 2023

Bipartisan, bicameral bill would reduce costs for Main Street by increasing competition in credit card processing market

TOPEKA (June 7, 2023) – Small business owners across the Sunflower State applaud Senator Roger Marshall’s leadership in re-introducing the Credit Card Competition Act of 2023, a bipartisan and bicameral bill that would provide much-needed competition in the credit card processing market.

Upon the bill’s introduction, NFIB State Director Dan Murray said:

“Whether it’s historic inflation that continues to put pressure on prices, or the gap in services left by the worker shortage, Kansans have felt the pinch. Job creators, from Goodland to Emporia, are also struggling in this economy. Yet year after year, credit card companies raise their fees, leaving small businesses with little options and no negotiating power. Senator Marshall’s Credit Card Competition Act would provide immediate relief for small businesses.”
