NFIB Endorses Pro-Small Business California Congressional Candidates for Re-Election

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (July 20, 2022) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed the following Members of Congress for re-election to the United States House of Representatives: CA-01: Doug LaMalfa CA-05: Tom McClintock CA-22: David Valadao CA-23: Jay Obernolte CA-27: Mike Garcia CA-40: Young Kim CA-41: Ken Calvert CA-45: Michelle Steel CA-48: Darrell Issa “Now more than ever, California’s small business community needs reliable supporters in Congress, and we are confident these Members of Congress will continue to support Main Street,” said John Kabateck, NFIB California State Director. “Small businesses are facing historic challenges, and these incumbents have proven they will promote pro-small business policies and fight against new tax increases and regulations. California’s small businesses are proud to support them today.” Each candidate has earned an 80% or higher NFIB voting record for the 117th Congress. Rep. LaMalfa is a fourth-generation rice farmer and an NFIB member for over 40 years. Rep. McClintock was a pro-small business legislator in the California legislature and now in the U.S. Congress. Rep. Valadao has experience working at his family farm. Rep. Obernolte is a small business owner and has spent three decades as a job creator. Rep. Garcia has experience creating hundreds of jobs for his district. Rep. Kim is a former small business owner in the garment and fashion industry. Rep. Calvert is a former small business owner in the restaurant industry. Rep. Steel is a small business owner for over two decades. Rep. Issa is a former founder and CEO. “These candidates have a strong understanding of the issues that impact California’s small businesses,” said Sharon Sussin, NFIB Senior National Political Director. “We are confident they will continue to be strong small business supporters in Congress, and we are pleased to endorse them.” The endorsement is issued from NFIB FedPAC, NFIB’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by voluntary contributions by NFIB members over and above their membership dues. Decisions made by the NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member-driven grassroots evaluation.
