2024 Small Business Challenges in the Idaho Legislature

Expect many of the issues debated but not passed last year to make a return engagement this year. They include a few perennials that will always be with us, and NFIB will always be there for the fight.
  • Giving local governments the right to levy their own sales taxes
  • Allowing counties and municipalities to establish their own minimum-wage rates
  • Extending the sales tax to include services
Supporters of a few new issues that surfaced in 2023 are expected to give it another try in 2024.
  • Property tax relief and the varied forms that will take
  • Credit card swipe fees. Check out NFIB’s position on that here.
  • Further environmental initiatives
