Arkansas General Assembly Begins 2026 Fiscal Session

Arkansas General Assembly Begins 2026 Fiscal Session

April 8, 2026

The General Assembly will consider budgetary and financial matters

On April 8, 2026, the General Assembly convened a “fiscal session.” Fiscal sessions were first established in Arkansas in 2010. They occur in odd-numbered years, and the primary purpose is to address budgetary and financial matters. The sessions are limited to 30 days in duration.

This year’s fiscal session will look a little different than in years past. Governor Sanders has announced there will be a separate special session to address income tax in Arkansas after the fiscal session ends.

While Arkansas has many pro-small business legislators, direct advocacy from our members makes a big difference. We will continue to elevate the voice of small businesses.
