Make Your Voice Heard by Registering to Vote

Date: September 14, 2022

National Voter Registration Day is Sept. 20 and Employee Voter Registration Week is Sept. 26-30

A lot is on the line in the upcoming midterm elections. Inflation, high gas prices, and workforce shortages are issues at the forefront for small business owners. State and federal races will have a large impact on the legislative climate for the next two years and could make a difference for the survival of Main Street.

National Voter Registration Day

This is an annual day marked to remind and encourage all eligible citizens to register to vote. Join in on National Voter Registration Day Sept. 20 to ensure your small business’ voice is heard this election cycle.

Before your voice is heard by the public officials who create policies that affect your business, it’s crucial to elect pro-small business candidates. But before the voice of your business can be heard at the polls, you and your employees must be registered to vote. Whether you’re recently of voting age, are newly motivated to vote, or if you moved to a new state or even a new location within the same state, you still have time to register before you can vote in the midterm elections.

Right now, the voices of small business owners and their employees are more important than ever. Click here to register to vote and encourage your employees to do the same.

Employee Voter Registration Week

It’s critical that you and your employees are ready to cast your ballots on Election Day this year. As a small business owner, you can make your employees aware of the current issues that have the largest impact on your small business.

Employee Voter Registration Week, which runs from Sept. 26-30, provides the perfect opportunity to encourage your employees to participate in the political process by arming them with all the tools they need to do their civic duty.

Take Action: In the upcoming midterm elections, you and your employees can tip the scales in favor of policymakers who are friendly to small business if you take the time now to register to vote.

The only way to ensure we have pro-small business policies is by electing pro-small business candidates. NFIB’s Elections Center provides all the election news and resources you’ll need to make the voice of small businesses heard in your local elections. NFIB’s political team is constantly monitoring and engaging with campaigns across the country to help elect candidates who will be the best advocates for our members.

Registering to vote is a quick and easy first step to prepare for the next election. Spread the word, and while you’re at it, don’t forget to encourage your friends and family to register as well.
