Small business owner Jenni Kiser is also an elected Mariposa County Supervisor
“Your advice and counsel on legislation and public policy are vital for NFIB to continue to be the leading voice for small and independent businesses in the Golden State,” wrote NFIB California State Director John Kabateck in welcoming Jenni Kiser to NFIB’s state Leadership Counsel.
In addition to owning Mountain Fitness in Mariposa, Kiser is also an elected member of the Mariposa County Board of Supervisors, representing District 4. A full biography of her was published in the Mariposa Gazette. Kiser wasted no time in getting right to work, attending NFIB’s Leadership Day in Sacramento on May 5 to help lobby for the small business agenda.
“Your involvement is greatly appreciated by me and the entire NFIB team, but most of all by our fellow NFIB members,” added Kabateck. “Thank you for serving on NFIB’s Leadership Council in California.”
Leadership Council members:
- testify at legislative hearings involving small-business issues
- host lawmakers for a tour of their business operations
- be a quotable contact for the media
- assist in implementing the political strategy for elections, including recruitment, endorsements, fundraising, and other grassroots efforts
- help shape questions for the state ballot, the results from which are considered by lawmakers, state constitutional officers, and the bureaucracy to be the true voice of small business.
No one speaks with more authority about the conditions of their communities than the small business owners who are the central threads running through all of them—and no group of people are more respected by lawmakers and more sincerely listened to than Main Street entrepreneurs.

NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
