Be sure the voice of small business is heard on Election Day
Time is running out to register for the May 16 closed party primary.
The deadline to register in person, by mail, or at an Office of Motor Vehicles location is April 15. Online registration through the GeauxVote system remains open until April 25.
Voters should check their registration status now. Some residents have found their status listed as “inactive,” which can prevent them from voting. You can check your status quickly on the Louisiana Secretary of State’s website and take steps to fix any issues before the deadline.
Early voting runs May 2-9, except Sunday, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Election Day is Saturday, May 16, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot is May 12 by 4:30 p.m. Completed absentee ballots must be received by May 15 at 4:30 p.m., unless special rules apply for military and overseas voters.
