OLYMPIA, Wash., March 2, 2026—A week after launching its campaign against the so-called Millionaire Tax, NFIB today announced this week’s start of accompanying radio and digital ads aimed at stopping Senate Bill 6346 from making it out of Legislature and onto Gov. Bob Ferguson’s desk, where it is expected he would sign it into law.

“Every NFIB-member small business owner in the state was asked their position on the so-called Millionaire Tax,” said Patrick Connor, state director for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Washington. “98% of respondents were a resounding ‘No!’ With such a visceral response from employers and entrepreneurs, NFIB has a duty to ask the public to join us in telling lawmakers ‘Do not tax Main Street like it’s Wall Street. Vote no on the Millionaire Tax.’”

The radio ads and other information can be found on a special landing page NFIB set up for its campaign, ProtectWashingtonSmallBusinesses.org, or you can listen to the ad here. The ads will run in select legislative districts throughout the state.

Under SB 6346, sole proprietor and pass-through business income is taxed at the individual level regardless of whether that income is actually distributed to the owner. This creates serious cashflow risks, particularly for businesses that reinvest earnings, operate under lending restrictions, or experience year-to-year income volatility.

More information in Connor’s weekly legislative report.
