The award recognizes NFIB members for their efforts to support Tennessee small businesses

NFIB has recognized David Frizzell, founder of David Frizzell CPA, P.C., in Johnson City, with its prestigious Small Business Champion award. The recognition honors NFIB members who go the extra mile to help the association promote and protect the right of its members to own, operate and grow their businesses. NFIB has 7,000 members in Tennessee and 300,000 nationwide.
Frizzell is an active member of the NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council and its Tax Advisory Council, which reviews state tax proposals to determine their potential impact on Tennessee’s small business owners. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Tennessee Society of CPA’s (TSCPA). He is past president of the TSCPA’s Appalachian Chapter and currently serves on the TSCPA’s Federal Tax Committee.
“David Frizzell is an outstanding leader for small businesses in Tennessee,” said NFIB State Director Jim Brown. “He keeps a keen eye on federal and state tax proposals and is very good at identifying legislation that can harm our state’s job creators. He communicates well with his elected officials and continues to have a strong influence on public policymaking at the state and federal levels.”
Frizzell said, “My association with NFIB and all the organization does for small business has had a positive impact on my business and our clients. NFIB does a tremendous job watching what’s happening in Nashville and Washington, D.C. and communicating with its membership. I’m honored to be part of NFIB and to receive this award.”
Frizzell is a member of the Johnson City Evening Rotary Club and is a past president and board member. He and his wife Margaret Ann are active members at Piney Flats Presbyterian Church where David is an elder.
NFIB is a member-driven organization advocating on behalf of small and independent businesses nationwide.
