NFIB Urges Arizona State Lawmakers to Align State Tax Code with Department of Revenue’s Forms

February 5, 2026

With tax filing season underway, small business owners need certainty now

PHOENIX (Feb. 5, 2026) – In a statement, NFIB State Director Chad Heinrich thanked state lawmakers for moving bills forward that would provide certainty for Arizona small business owners by aligning the state tax code with the tax forms already released by the Department of Revenue.

“Small business owners are the foundation of our state’s economy,” Heinrich said. “They employ more than 40% of the workforce, creating good-paying jobs for hardworking Arizonans. They need certainty now. The tax-filing season is underway. The mismatch between the Department of Revenue’s forms and the Governor’s “wait and see” approach has Main Street in limbo. Small businesses are counting on state policymakers to align the state code with the Department of Revenue’s forms now, so small business owners can hire, invest, and expand their operations with greater certainty.”
