NFIB cautions against additional mandates on Main Street

Following Governor Shapiro’s budget address before the Pennsylvania General Assembly, NFIB State Director Greg Moreland warns how these proposals will negatively impact the small business community:

“Pennsylvania small businesses are on high alert after Governor Shapiro proposed more costly and burdensome mandates on Main Street. These proposals will stifle the economic growth the Commonwealth so desperately needs and highlights the outrageous government spending currently happening. Now is not the time to overwhelm small businesses with costly and burdensome mandates.

“Small business owners need leaders to prioritize policies that will instead strengthen our local workforce and give small business owners the freedom to run and operate their businesses. We encourage Governor Shapiro and members of the General Assembly to work with small businesses to find working solutions that will strengthen the small business economy, and in turn, Pennsylvania’s economy as a whole.”

NFIB recently released its priorities for the 2026 legislative session.
