‘We Can’t Wait’ Arizona Small Business Owners Call on Governor Hobbs to Support Tax Conformity

January 15, 2026

NFIB Small Business Owner Members participate in a press conference in support of the Legislature’s tax conformity bills, HB 2153 & SB 1106.

Following the Legislature’s passage of HB 2153 and SB 1106 to align the state tax code with the federal tax reforms passed in 2025, NFIB Small Business Owner Members John Stuart and Jeff Fleetham participated in a press conference with legislators urging Governor Hobbs to sign the bills into law.
“This bill will directly impact the decisions that I, and other small business owners around the state, are making right now,” Stuart said. “We can’t wait. We need to continue to have the economy grow. I’m willing to do my part and invest. But having certainty and conformity will help with that.”
“By having this uncertainty, we’ve added this additional burden to these companies who don’t have the resources to hire tax experts to help them navigate this ridiculous conundrum if our Governor doesn’t sign this,” Fleetham added.
