The award honors NFIB members who go the extra mile to advocate in support of Tennessee's small businesses

Patricia Jones and Jim Brown

NFIB has recognized Patricia Jones with its prestigious Small Business Champion award. NFIB State Director Jim Brown made the presentation at NFIB Tennessee’s Leadership Retreat in Chattanooga. The Small Business Champion award honors NFIB members who go the extra mile to help the association promote and protect the right of its members to own, operate, and grow their businesses.

Jones is Vice President of Finance of Jones Contractors Inc., a family-owned and operated company based in Henderson, specializing in a wide range of construction services in the upstream, midstream, downstream, and renewable energy sectors. She previously owned Jones Lumber Co. She is a member of the NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council and serves on NFIB’s state Political Action Committee and Labor Advisory Council. Jones Contractors has been an NFIB member since 2012.

“Patricia Jones is an outstanding advocate for small business issues at the state and federal levels,” Brown said. “Patricia knows her elected officials, and they know her, which has contributed to her business’s success. She is a force for small business because she is outstanding at expressing her concerns and views articulately on the issues that enable her to grow her business and support her community.”

“It’s a high honor to receive the NFIB Small Business Champion award,” Jones said. “NFIB is truly the voice of small business. I’ve enjoyed working through the NFIB to make sure our elected officials in Nashville and Washington, D.C., are keenly aware of the impact of their policy proposals and decisions – both positive and negative – on small business.”

Jones is very involved in her community, including community and leadership initiatives such as the Chester County Chamber of Commerce, Delta Leadership Institute Leadership class of 2013, and WestStar Leadership class of 2017.
