Mass. lawmakers continue to file bills that will have significant impact on how you do business.
Over the past few weeks NFIB provided testimony on bills that will:
- Mandating all businesses provide harassment training for their workers similar California and New York’s laws.
- Creating a miles traveled tax on heavy duty trucks.
- Allow municipalities to band together to present local ballot questions to fund transportation projects by increasing payroll, sales, vehicle excise, and property taxes.
- Impose carbon taxes, where the cost will be passed along to consumers in their energy bills.
- Allow local option fuel taxes.
NFIB opposed all of these bills that will only make the state less competitive and more expensive to do business. We will monitor these bills as they maneuver through the legislative process over the next few months, please check your inbox for future updates.
