State Director Andy Markowski provided a legislative update to let members know what NFIB is doing for them.

On April 11th, as the Connecticut Legislature entered its current critical final weeks of the session, NFIB State Director Andy Markowski hosted State Representative Steve Weir for an exclusive virtual legislative briefing to learn the latest about the top labor issues and other challenges facing small business owners in Hartford. State Director Markowski and Rep. Weir had an informative discussion and answered questions about the important maneuvering under the Capitol Dome and the potential consequences for Main Street businesses in the state.

Though this NFIB members-only virtual event required free advanced registration, we have provided a recording of this interview and Q&A for NFIB members and small business allies.
Among the topics discussed were the expanded employer-paid sick leave mandate, the elimination of the “tip credit,” unemployment compensation for striking workers, and the FY25 state budget.
