State Budget will contain tax relief for Wisconsinites.

MADISON, WI (June 13, 2025) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) State Director, Luke Bacher, released the following statement in response to recent action by on the Joint Finance Committee (JFC) state budget:

“On behalf of the thousands of small businesses in Wisconsin, we would like to commend the $1.3 billion tax cut approved by the state’s budget-writing committee.  Small businesses across the state are facing numerous challenges from inflation to workforce shortages.

“In fact, a recent survey of our members revealed high taxes as the number one challenge facing their businesses.  Reducing the tax burden in our state is a great step forward toward ensuring our economy remains strong.

Now more than ever, we need to get surplus tax dollars out of Madison and back into the pockets of the taxpayers of our state.  We look forward to the advancement of the budget bill and encourage Governor Evers to sign this tax cut into law without using his veto pen.”
