NFIB-backed candidate fills vacant seat in the Minnesota Senate

On Tuesday, May 6th, Republican Keri Heintzeman took the oath of office as she was sworn into the Minnesota Senate. With Heintzeman filling the vacant seat in Senate District 6, the Legislature returns to full capacity, with a DFL majority of 34-33.

Heintzeman prevailed in a special election against DFL candidate Denise Slipy with 60.3% of the vote. Heintzeman will now represent Senate District 6, which includes part of Crow Wing, Cass, and Itasca counties.

NFIB Minnesota endorsed Keri Heintzeman in the SD  6 Special Election and is looking forward to working with her on issues that impact small business in Minnesota.
